Our clinet is seeking a Parks and Gardens Officer. This role offers the chance to maintain and enhance the city’s public spaces, working with modern landscaping equipment to keep parks, gardens, and streetscapes in excellent condition. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with horticultural maintenance experience who takes pride in delivering quality outdoor spaces for the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain a range of landscaping equipment including ride-on mowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and blowers
- Maintain parks, gardens, and streetscapes to high standards while working safely and efficiently
- Proven experience in horticultural maintenance or a similar landscaping role, with a track record of delivering quality outcomes
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, showing initiative and good judgment with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated skill in building positive relationships with colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds
- Strong capability to prioritise your workload, manage time effectively, and complete tasks to agreed standards
- Commitment to safe working practices and proactive identification of workplace hazards
Qualifications:
- White Card
- National Police Clearance
- Experience in horticultural, landscaping and arboriculture
- Experience in working with and maintaining parks and associated infrastructure
- Ability to operate relevant equipment (eg: chainsaws, brush cutters, chippers, blower vacs, etc)
