Maxima Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a supportive team within a large and established organisation. About the Role
The purpose of this role is to deliver customer-focused, timely and accurate payroll services that support the outcomes of the People & Safety team.
Working as part of a payroll team, you will contribute to the end-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls for approximately 1,500 employees. You will play an important role in ensuring payroll activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll activities, including associated reporting and payment processes.
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and implementing corrective actions in consultation with the Payroll Manager.
- Assisting with end-of-month, end-of-financial-year and FBT payroll procedures and reporting.
- Ensuring superannuation fund selections meet compliance requirements.
- Ensuring payroll activities comply with relevant legislation, awards, Enterprise Agreements, policies, procedures and delegations.
- Interpreting and providing advice on payroll-related legislation, awards, Enterprise Agreements and HR policies.
- Completing payroll system reconciliations and audits.
About You
You are an experienced payroll professional with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality and customer service. You enjoy working collaboratively within a team and are confident managing payroll activities in a deadline-driven environment.
You will bring a proactive approach to identifying issues and improving processes, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You will also demonstrate a strong understanding of payroll compliance and the importance of maintaining accurate payroll records.
Required Skills and Experience
- Working knowledge of Chris21 or another payroll system.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of FBT, workers compensation, superannuation and payroll tax legislation.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer service environment.
