Maxima’s client, a well-known local council have an opportunity for a People Services Officer to join their team for an assignment to Feb 2026. Based in Tewantin, you will work Monday – Friday with a casual hourly pay of $42.77 + super.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for people services related enquiries across the organisation
- Provide timely, accurate and consistent information on People and Culture policies, processes, and procedures
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on recruitment and onboarding, employment variations and other related documentation
- Processing of employee information and data entry into people systems, maintaining the integrity and security of all employee records
- Collaborate with the Remuneration and Benefits team to ensure alignment between people transactions and payroll processing, supporting accurate and timely outcomes
- Support the consistent application of People and Culture policies, processes and frameworks across the organisation
- Assist with the preparation of reports, workforce data and documentation
- Contribute to People & Culture initiatives and projects that promote operational excellence, workforce engagement, and service integration
About You:
- Certificate III in Business Administration, People and Culture, or equivalent relevant experience in a local government or similar corporate or public-sector environment
- Current C class drivers license
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative or HR support services in a busy, customer-focused environment
- Sound understanding of HR processes, employee lifecycle management and data integrity requirements
- Proven ability to understand relevant people and culture policies, industrial instruments and privacy, governance and compliance standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, responsive, and professional customer service
