George Bolton Swimming Centre is preparing for the 2026/27 summer season.
Set in a vibrant outdoor environment, George Bolton Swimming Centre is a highly regarded community aquatic facility. We are looking for Pool Lifeguards who take pride in safety, presentation, customer service and professionalism, and who are committed to providing a safe and positive experience for all patrons.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified lifeguards or those willing to obtain who are looking for rewarding casual work across the summer season, with the benefit of working in a supportive and professional outdoor centre environment.
About the Role
Pool Lifeguards are integral members of the George Bolton Swimming Centre team and are responsible for maintaining a safe, well-supervised and welcoming aquatic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- active surveillance and supervision of pools and surrounding areas;
- monitoring patron behaviour and responding proactively to safety risks;
- ensuring compliance with centre policies, procedures and safety standards;
- responding promptly and professionally to incidents and emergency situations;
- supporting a safe, clean and well-presented facility;
- providing friendly and professional customer service to patrons and families;
- working collaboratively with Duty Supervisors and team members; and
- contributing to a positive, reliable and high-performing team.
Opportunities for front desk reception shifts may also be available for suitable applicants.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident, safety-focused and professional Pool Lifeguard who understands the importance of reliability, teamwork and strong patron supervision.
You will bring:
- current Pool Lifeguard or willing to obtain experience or strong aquatic industry experience;
- excellent scanning, supervision and situational awareness;
- a calm and professional approach when responding to incidents;
- strong communication and customer service skills;
- reliability and commitment across the summer season;
- a positive, team-focused attitude;
- pride in maintaining high safety and presentation standards; and
- availability to work across a flexible roster, including weekends and peak summer periods.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold current qualifications and compliance documentation, including:
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate;
- First Aid Certificate;
- Child safe Environment/RHAAN Clearance
- DHS Working with Children Check;
- any other compliance requirements relevant to the role.
