Our client is seeking 3 x Project Superintendents ton assist in the commissioning of a new system.
The role will be focused on managing construction contractor commissioning activities and their interface with internal operations and external customer interfaces, including performance testing and quality control inspections and acceptance of completed works.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager in Assets Development and Delivery, the Project Superintendent is responsible for management of Construction Contractor activities in accordance with Fremantle Ports policies, standards and Major Works Contracts.
Key Duties include:
- Supervision, co-ordination and collaboration with on-site construction contractors.
- Coordination with stakeholders such as operations, tenants, customers, or other asset owners.
- Facilitate safe and efficient contractors’ delivery to scope and project planning.
- Provide advice and assistance to the Assets, Development and Delivery team and Major works construction Contractors whilst liaising with the Operational team.
- Minimum 5 years or more demonstrated project management or construction supervision experience.
- Trade Qualifications in Civil, Building or Construction discipline or Tertiary Qualifications in Civil, Building, Construction, or related engineering discipline with a Builders Licence under the provisions of the Builders registration Act.
- Qualifications in Contract Administration and or Project Management are highly desirable.
- Coordination and supervisory skills with experience managing construction in industrial brownfields environment.
- Experience in formulating, implementing and managing construction scopes of works, specifications, scheduling and budget estimates.
- Project Supervision, Contract Management and Administration skills.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations relating to construction management.
- Working knowledge of high-risk construction activities, their associated Codes of Practice, Guidance Notes, Australian Standards and HSE Requirements.
- Well-developed knowledge of WHS Act/ Regulations and demonstrated ability to implement and ensure a safe work environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Drivers Licence.
