Position: Psychosocial Risk & Assurance Specialist
Location: Logan Central
Pay Rate: $64.78 p/hr + super
Contract: Mon – Fri 8am-5pm
 
Maxima is currently seeking highly motivated individual for a Psychosocial Risk & Assurance Specialist role within the HR Team for one of our local government clients.
 
Primary Role Purpose: Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s psychosocial health and safety framework by providing specialist advice, risk management expertise, governance oversight, organisational insights and capability development to ensure compliance with legislative obligations and foster a psychologically healthy and safe workplace. 
 
In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement and continually improve Council’s psychosocial risk management framework, policies, procedures and supporting tools
  • Provide specialist advice on psychosocial hazards, psychological health and safety obligations, and contemporary risk management practices
  • Lead the identification, assessment, control and review of psychosocial hazards across Council in accordance with legislative requirements and industry best practice
  • Facilitate organisational and workgroup psychosocial risk assessments and support leaders to implement effective and sustainable controls
  • Analyse organisational data including injury management, workers compensation, employee feedback, absenteeism, turnover, complaint and investigation trends to identify emerging psychosocial risks and recommend preventative actions
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate education, training and awareness programs to increase organisational capability in psychosocial risk management
  • Prepare reports, presentations and recommendations for leadership teams, committees and governance forums
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychosocial risk controls and recommend improvements where required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Risk Management, or a related discipline
  • Current C class drivers license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, associated regulations, and the Managing the Risk of Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice 2022
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, assessing, and controlling psychosocial hazards within complex organisational environments
  • Strong understanding of psychosocial risk management frameworks, organisational psychology principles and prevention focused workplace health and safety practices
  • Experience developing and implementing organisational strategies, frameworks, programs or initiatives relating to psychological health and safety
