About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Ranger to support the delivery of community safety and compliance services within a local government environment. In this customer-facing position, you will be responsible for enforcing local laws, investigating complaints, managing animal control matters, and providing professional assistance to members of the public.
Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating and enforcing Local Laws and relevant legislation.
- Managing dog and cat control matters, including impoundments and dog attack investigations.
- Issuing infringements and preparing documentation for prosecutions and court appearances.
- Monitoring parking compliance and issuing infringement notices where required.
- Responding to community enquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Promoting community safety through education and compliance activities.
About You
You are an experienced Ranger who thrives in a public-facing environment and can confidently handle challenging situations with professionalism and diplomacy. You possess excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Ranger or Regulatory Officer within a local government environment.
- Working knowledge of the Local Government Act, Dog Act, and relevant Local Laws and policies.
- Completion of, or progression towards, Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2, or equivalent experience.
- Experience investigating dog attacks, managing impoundments, and issuing infringements.
- Experience enforcing Local Laws, conducting investigations, and attending court proceedings.
- Experience monitoring parking compliance and issuing infringement notices.
- Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
