About the Role
 
Reporting to the Supervisor Response Services Operations, you will deliver customer-focused compliance and enforcement of Council Local Laws and relevant State legislation, with a strong emphasis on education and community engagement.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complaints and enforce Council Local Laws and relevant legislation
  • Manage issues including animal control, illegal parking, camping, littering, signage, and overgrown land
  • Impound animals, vehicles, and goods where required
  • Conduct patrols across beaches, parks, roads, and public spaces
  • Issue notices, infringements, and prepare evidence for legal proceedings
  • Represent Council as required in court proceedings
  • Provide professional advice to the community on compliance matters
  • Participate in after-hours standby roster and respond to urgent callouts
  • Maintain accurate records in line with Council policies

About You
 
You’re a confident communicator who can handle sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgement. You enjoy being out in the field, solving problems, and working in a role where no two days are the same.
 
Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Investigation/Enforcement and/or Animal Management), or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying legislation, regulations, and policies
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Proficiency in digital systems and mobile technology
  • Current “C” Class Driver License
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role

Desirable

  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
