About the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor Response Services Operations, you will deliver customer-focused compliance and enforcement of Council Local Laws and relevant State legislation, with a strong emphasis on education and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate complaints and enforce Council Local Laws and relevant legislation
- Manage issues including animal control, illegal parking, camping, littering, signage, and overgrown land
- Impound animals, vehicles, and goods where required
- Conduct patrols across beaches, parks, roads, and public spaces
- Issue notices, infringements, and prepare evidence for legal proceedings
- Represent Council as required in court proceedings
- Provide professional advice to the community on compliance matters
- Participate in after-hours standby roster and respond to urgent callouts
- Maintain accurate records in line with Council policies
About You
You’re a confident communicator who can handle sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgement. You enjoy being out in the field, solving problems, and working in a role where no two days are the same.
Mandatory Requirements
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Investigation/Enforcement and/or Animal Management), or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience applying legislation, regulations, and policies
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
- Proficiency in digital systems and mobile technology
- Current “C” Class Driver License
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role
Desirable
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
