Senior Project Manager

Our client is seeking a Full-time Senior Project Manager who will work on a range of physical asset projects from conception across a large scope of capital works. They will be responsible for the for the overall Project management from development inputting into or leading definition study phases for construction ready investment decisions and delivering physical assets and construction projects for asset investment program’s overall development and delivery.
 
 Key duties include:

  • Provide core project leadership, management and development and delivery services for a portfolio or program of projects. Inputting into the planning, identification, selection
  • Liaise and handover with Study Managers, Planners and Engineers to ensure definition feasibility is met, and leading the execution of the projects and modifications in execution for success
  • Define the opportunity or issue and determine the project scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Input into and the development of the Asset Investment Program with the Manager Asset Development and Delivery. This program may include one or multiple physical asset projects in various stages or phases, depending on business requirements and the size and complexity of projects within it.
  • Successfully deliver the agreed program of projects to the defined outcomes, taking ownership of the full life cycle of each project in accordance with all applicable requirements, including business case development, PMO project and contract management systems, corporate policies and statutory requirements, especially as they relate to safety and protection of the environment.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Appropriate qualifications in project management.
  • Five or more years of proven high-level experience in project management with broad exposure to all key elements of the project management life cycle.
  • 5+ years of experience, working with business stakeholders within a multi-disciplinary/cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs on schedule, on budget and within scope. Proven experience in contract management, including superintendency experience in AS4000 and bespoke construction and works contracts
  • Proven ability to lead high performing teams.
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
  • Significant knowledge of project planning/scheduling tools (for example, Microsoft Project) with a solid track record in their practical application.
  • Management of capital investment. Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts.
