Position: Social Planner/ Urban Planner

Location: Logan Central

Pay Rate: Up to $58.p/h + super (casual)

Assignment: Temporary, Full-time, 38hrs/week, until March 2025

Maxima’s Recruitment Services is looking for a Social Planner/Urban Planner with a proven track record in planning and executing community infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be prepared to immediately contribute to the delivery of dynamic infrastructure projects for one of our government clients.

About the Role

As a Social Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our community’s future. You will provide expert advice on community needs and social development, collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver impactful outcomes. Lead strategic social planning initiatives to address community needs.

  • Provide advice to stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes for the community. Contribute to Client’s Planning Scheme and other land use strategies.
  • Assess and provide guidance on social impacts for various applications and plans.
  • Develop social sustainability guidelines and build client’s capacity in social impact processes.
  • Identify socio-economic trends and provide data-driven advice.
  • Prepare demographic and social indicator reports to inform client strategies.
  • Manage the organisation’s demographic data resources.
  • Build networks with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community consultation processes and support policy development.
  • Provide specialist advice and identify emerging social planning issues.
  • Deliver accurate and timely research and reports.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, policy development, social sciences, or a related discipline. Extensive experience in social planning projects.
  • Social research, impact assessment, data interpretation, and legislative understanding. Strong negotiation, consultation, and community engagement abilities.
  • Independent and team working, project management, strategic policy development, and complex report writing.
  • Possession of a current “C” class driver’s licence
  • Must meet the requirements of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, including holding a current Blue Card for working with children.
