George Bolton Swimming Centre is preparing for the 2026/27 summer season and is seeking experienced, qualified and highly motivated Swim Instructors to join its Learn to Swim team.
Set in a beautiful outdoor environment, George Bolton Swimming Centre offers a professional and community-focused aquatic program that supports children and adults to develop confidence, water safety awareness and swimming ability.
We are looking for Swim Instructors who take pride in delivering high-quality lessons, maintain excellent safety standards, and genuinely enjoy helping students progress.
About the Role
As a Swim Instructor, you will play an important role in the successful delivery of the Learn to Swim program at George Bolton Swimming Centre.
Key responsibilities include:
- delivering safe, engaging and well-structured swimming lessons;
- teaching water safety knowledge and swimming skills across a range of abilities;
- using appropriate drills, progressions and teaching methods to support student development;
- creating a positive and encouraging learning environment;
- maintaining strong supervision and safety awareness at all times;
- providing professional and friendly customer service to students, parents and families; and
- working collaboratively with the Learn to Swim team to support program quality and consistency.
Swim School Hours
Swim School generally operates across the following times:
- Monday to Thursday: 3.30pm – 6.00/7.00pm
- Saturday: 9.00am – 12.00pm
Additional opportunities may be available for suitably qualified staff, including lifeguard and front desk shifts.
About You
To be successful, you will be a confident, reliable and professional Swim Instructor who is committed to delivering a high standard of service.
You will bring:
- a genuine passion for teaching swimming and water safety;
- excellent communication skills with children, adults and families;
- strong supervision and class management skills;
- a positive, team-focused attitude;
- reliability and availability across the summer season;
- a commitment to safety, presentation and professionalism; and
- the ability to deliver lessons that are engaging, structured and appropriate to each student’s level.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold, or be able to provide evidence of, the following:
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification/licence;
- Current CPR certificate;
- DHS Working with Children Check;
- Child Safe Environments / RRHAN-EC (Masterclass) training; and
- any other compliance requirements relevant to the role.
First Aid qualifications will be highly regarded.
