Wellbeing Health and Safety Officer

Maxima’s Recruitment Services team are on the hunt for an experienced Health and Safety Officer for a position with a well-known local Council based in Maroochydore.
 
This position, working Monday – Friday will see you promote a proactive health and safety culture by providing advice and support related to increasing workplace wellness at both an enterprise and localised level.
 
On offer is a casual hourly pay, $46.26 – $52.73 + super, negotiable depending on experience.
 
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
 
Our client is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation and Return to Work coordinator (RRTWC) who has completed the 1-day approved training. Ideally with skills in psychosocial risk management.

  • Provide support, education, guidance and advice to managers and employees on wellbeing issues
  • In partnership with the business, conduct regular Psychological Risk Assessments
  • Provide advice on psychologically safe workplaces and build acceptance and value for mental health initiatives that drive positive performance and sustained outcomes for employees
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders while promoting continuous improvement and encouraging innovative initiatives in wellbeing
  • Act as a point of contact for injured workers, other Council employees and leaders from the time of incident through to completion of the statutory claim
  • Provide early, timely, customer-focused, and empathetic advice and support to stakeholders for workplace rehabilitation and return to work issues
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases throughout their lifecycle, develop tailored rehabilitation plans with relevant stakeholders (including approved suitable duties and return to work programs), and maintain well-organised administrative records

 
To Be Successful:

  • Bachelor degree qualifications in relevant field
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator accreditation
  • Relevant experience in a wellbeing related role
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisation skills
  • Current C class driver’s license
