Gratitude from Star Apprentice

Meet Hugo Kregar, star apprentice, mental health advocate and 2023 SA Training Award nominee.

Hugo’s journey with Maxima started in 2020, under the watchful eye of Group Training Consultant Tony Martin – who noted Hugo’s enthusiasm from the start:

“From my first on site visit he did not stop asking relevant questions which were all about how he could further progress as a carpenter and learn his trade. This enthusiasm was also quickly picked up on by his RTO trainers who I know have been highly impressed by his attitude. I have visited him on many work sites over the past four years and seen the high quality of workmanship and skills that he is capable of.”

Having completed his apprenticeship earlier this year, Hugo has since undertaken project management studies, been shortlisted for the 2023 SA Training Awards and supported mental health promotion in trades. And while his accolades are impressive, Hugo remains grounded and grateful for the support of Maxima:

“Maxima has been fantastic since I started my apprenticeship in 2020. Their professionalism is second to none. The support provided by Maxima has allowed me to undertake further studies while ensuring I completed my apprenticeship to a high standard.

Tony Martin and Mark Bronstein have been great case managers, ensuring my apprenticeship ran smoothly. I’d like to thank them, especially for their hard work, support and guidance throughout my apprenticeship. I’d personally recommend Maxima to all people thinking of undertaking an apprenticeship.”

Great work to all, especially to our legendary Tony Martin, who will retire in September having guided many hundreds of apprentices and trainees into fulfilling careers. You will be greatly missed!
